The 100 Proofs the Earth is Not a Globe Project has involved a long development stage which has had several public outcomes.
Beginning in June 2009 and completing in March 2010, we have hosted a large array of speakers from a diverse range of backgrounds and areas of expertise. With the basic idea being to spark debate and engagement with an audience, the pairings have been at turns complementary, controversial and co-incidental.
A brief listing of all the talks is below, and shortly we will start uploading video and audio documentation.
| 100 Proofs Talk #1: Curiosity, Conflict and Counter-culture Friday 12th June 2009, Bouverie Studios | Dr Hugh Hudson- Doctor in Philosophy, Master of Arts, and knowledgeable in the relationships between art and science in the early Modern Era.
Ceri Hann- Masters in Public Art and Lecturer of Public Art at RMIT, artist, inventor and man of many tangents. |
| 100 Proofs Talk #2: Writings and Sitings Friday 17th July 2009, Bouverie Studios | Bob DiNapoli- Specializes in the teaching of medieval English literature and is a devotee of William Blake.
Danielle Kirby- has published and lectured in the areas of online religion, new religious movements and popular culture, and her research interests include mythology, reality perception and contemporary cultural trends. |
| 100 Proofs Talk #3: Tricks and Treats Friday 21st August 2009, Bouverie Studios | Simon Cropper – a Senior Lecturer in the School of Behavioural Science at the University or Melbourne, his research focuses on the perception of motion and colour in humans, and the development of reality, or hallucination.
Simon Taylor – A professional illusionist, he has a major in psychology from the University of Melbourne. Simon uses his shows to promote a love for science and knowledge to illustrate the brain’s capacity to be fooled. |

Simon Pampena- Simon Pampena is the Maths Man. He combines the ideas of mathematics with the craft of stand up comedy to communicate the true nature of maths – mind-blowing fun!
Nick Kallincos- a PhD in Biochemistry who worked as a research scientist for a number of years before pursuing a successful freelance career as a illustrator/animator. |

Ray Jarvis – director of the Intelligent Robotics Reasearch Centre. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Robotics.
Russell Blackford- Australian writer, philosopher, and literary critic who will explain the Transhumanist movement.
